WHAT IS INVISALIGN?
Invisalign is a series of clear removable aligners that slowly straighten your teeth in a comfortable and pain-free way. The aligners are invisible and transparent, and they are very difficult to see once they are in your mouth. This means you don't have to wear metal braces anymore. You can have a confident smile during treatment as well as after treatment! The aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology. Many orthodontists in Canada are certified to treat patients with Invisalign.
HOW DOES INVISALIGN WORK?
Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that slowly push your teeth into alignment. The first set of clear aligners get the teeth to start moving, and the last set of aligners have all the teeth perfectly straight. Every clear aligner in between slowly pushes the teeth into the right position.
You wear each set of aligners for 2 weeks, and you wear the aligners for 22 hours a day. The aligners may be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. It is very important to brush and floss your teeth before wearing the aligners, especially after meals.
The total treatment time for Invisalign ranges from 5 months to 18 months, and varies from person to person. The total treatment time is determined by the complexity of the case.
